SVW Foundation is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO 294-634), founded on 26 July 2023 by Shilton Van Wyk—a professional rugby player for South Africa’s National Sevens (Springbok Sevens). Born and raised in Saldanha, Shilton is passionate about uplifting local communities through youth development and support across schools, homeless shelters, hospitals, and rugby clubs.
Our motto: “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.”
The purpose of the Shilton van Wyk Rugby Foundation is clear:
We offer a range of programs and services designed to develop not only athletes but also leaders:
- Grassroots Rugby Clinics Introducing children and teenagers to the basics of rugby while instilling values of teamwork, respect, and discipline.
- High-Performance Training Camps Intensive skills, fitness, and tactical sessions for aspiring rugby players who want to take their game to the next level.
- Mentorship & Life Skills Guiding young athletes in balancing sports, education, and personal growth through direct mentorship from Shilton and other professionals.
- Community Development Projects Supporting schools, sports clubs, and local initiatives aimed at social upliftment through sport.
